Objective

Miners risk developing coal workers’ pneumoconiosis (also known as black lung disease) and other pneumoconiosis like silicosis and asbestosis. This study determines, maps, and analyzes the spatial patterns of health care utilization among Medicare beneficiaries with CWP and other related pneumoconiosis using the Medicare beneficiaries Limited Data Set from 2011-2014.
